Academic Policies

Attendance Policy
  • A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory for all courses.
  • Students falling below the attendance requirement may face detention or barred from examinations unless valid reasons (medical or emergency cases) are provided.
  • Attendance is monitored through digital systems, and students are responsible for tracking their attendance status.
Examination & Evaluation
  • Continuous internal assessments and end-semester examinations determine final grades.
  • Evaluation includes assignments, quizzes, practicals, projects, and viva-voce.
  • A student must secure minimum passing marks in both internal and external assessments to pass a subject.
  • Unfair means in exams (cheating, plagiarism) will lead to strict disciplinary actions, including cancellation of the exam.
Academic Integrity & Plagiarism
  • All assignments, research papers, and projects must be original and free from plagiarism.
  • GRD-IMT follows a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism, and students found guilty may face penalties, re-submission, or suspension.
  • Proper citations must be used in academic writing to avoid academic misconduct.

Student Code of Conduct

General Discipline
  • Students must maintain professionalism, respect, and decorum on campus.
  • Any form of ragging, harassment, or discrimination is strictly prohibited and will lead to severe disciplinary action.
  • The use of drugs, alcohol, or smoking on campus is strictly banned.
Dress Code
  • Students must dress appropriately as per university guidelines.
  • Certain programs (e.g., Hotel Management, Pharmacy, and Engineering) may have specific uniform requirements.
Use of Campus Facilities
  • Labs, libraries, and common areas must be used responsibly.
  • Students must not damage university property. Any misuse or vandalism will result in disciplinary action and financial penalties.

Research & Innovation Policy

  • GRD-IMT encourages research, innovation, and entrepreneurship through dedicated research centers.
  • Students engaging in research must follow ethical research guidelines and avoid any data falsification.
  • Intellectual property (IP) rights of research work done under university supervision belong to GRD-IMT unless otherwise stated.

Anti-Ragging & Harassment Policy

  • GRD-IMT follows a strict anti-ragging policy in accordance with UGC norms.
  • Any complaints regarding ragging or harassment should be reported to the Anti-Ragging Committee for immediate action.
  • A 24x7 helpline is available for students facing any issues related to harassment or bullying.

Hostel & Residential Guidelines

  • Curfew timings must be followed strictly by hostel residents.
  • Any unauthorized visitors in the hostel are not allowed.
  • Cleanliness & discipline must be maintained in hostel premises.
  • Violation of hostel rules may lead to expulsion from hostel facilities.

Fee Structure & Refund Policy

  • Tuition fees and other charges must be paid as per the due dates mentioned in the academic calendar.
  • Refunds for withdrawals are processed according to the university’s refund policy, following UGC guidelines.
  • Late fee submissions will incur penalties, and repeated non-payment may lead to course discontinuation.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism

  • Students can report grievances related to academics, faculty, or administration via the Student Grievance Cell.
  • Complaints will be resolved within a stipulated time frame.
  • An anonymous reporting system is available for students who wish to report sensitive concerns.
