The GRD Institute of Management and Technology Dehradun was established in 1989 by the Guru Ram Dass Educational Trust (Regd.), New Delhi, in honor of Shri Guru Ram Dass Ji, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs.

The institute was founded with the generous contribution of over 14 acres of land in Rajpur, Dehradun, donated by Sardar Raja Singh Oberoi, Chairman of the Texla Group of Industries, a renowned philanthropist.
