Computer Science & Engineering (B. Tech) programme is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to VMSB Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun.

The department of Computer Science & Engineering includes the study of design, computational processes and programming languages. This undergraduate program provides a strong foundation in the field of technological studies. The academic program comprises of engineering and scientific aspects of computing. The department provides the best computer lab facilities along with that has good industry-academia collaboration.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must mandatorily pass 10+2 examination with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology /  Biology / Informatics Practices /  Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship. (Any of the three).
  • 45% (general category) & 40% (reserved category) is required in the above subjects together.
  • Those candidates with Diploma, must clear with 45% (open category) & 40% (reserved category) subject to vacancies in the first year, if the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

Admission Procedure

85% of seats (50% Uttarakhand + 35% All India) will be occupied through counselling by UTU. The rest 15% management seats are allotted directly by the institute’s management based on counselling on the basis of IIT-JEE Rank.

About the Labs

The computer science and engineering department has a COMMUNICATION SKILLS LAB which includes about 55 systems each provided with headsets for improving the communication skills of the students in english. The STUDY SKILLS software which is installed in each system helps the students to improve the vocabulary and make them listen to conversations. Apart from this students have a lot of practical exercises to perform in system.
The Computer Science and Engineering department has PG lab which provides extensive computing programs. This includes more than 55 high-performance computers in the range of Windows systems which mainly encourages the students for developing Data structures, Object Oriented programs for their curriculum.
GIMP (Photoshop), Openlezo (Flash), Blender (3D max) softwares with Audio Speaker facility connected to 55 systems are made available for the students to learn Graphics & Multimedia applications. AU POWER Software made available exclusively to EEE students to run Load flow Analysis which is useful to calculate the Power and Voltage values quickly. The Power system model can be simulated.
The Computer Science and Engineering department has RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT lab which provides extensive computing resources for research and education. This includes more than 45 high-performance computers in the range of Linux, Unix and Windows systems which mainly encourages our students for developing projects for their curriculum. This lab also acts as a simulation lab for EEE & ECE departments.
